Battle mech WIP

Hello folks, this it´s a wip of my new project, a battle mech in manga style (or something aprox).

For the moment only hi-poly version it´s finished, but the plan it´s to make a game model ( maybe 12k polys and with textures 2k, maybe a rig ) for my portfolio and my next reel too.

The objective of this project it´s both to improve my workflow and test blender 2.5x for production.
In my portfolio there is a rear capture of the model too.

C.C. are wellcome, but i think it´s modelling process finished, maybe for improve next time

Great job, the immense detail is great!

Thanks! i try to put every detail i can, but at this point, my ram says enough, must optimize the polycount before make the lowpoly i think for bake the maps…

Yeah, that becomes a great barrier when it comes to details

…died…

So many edgeloops, but it´s easy

Just a question, what polycount i must to target for the low-mid poly version for a game engine like UDK or Unity? I think something about 10-15k it´s enought, but i want some feedback about that if possible.

Another update, now the “machinegun/laser” thing it´s finished ( maybe final touches at end… )

Nice, that looks really good.

Thanks duoin, and wellcome to the forum

Thank you. Blender’s about the most amazing free program I’ve ever used, and so I got really excited when I found this place. If I might ask, how does one texture a surface that complicated?

The detail it´s transferred from a highpoly model to a lowpoly mesh with a normalmap and AO map.
I advise you to visit another blender orientated sites like blendercookie or blenderguru to deeper knoweledge of blender

I would describe this mech as “flippin’ sweet.”

I’d say “holy bawls!” that’s a big gun.

Not too keen on over-the-top feet but great modeling indeed.

Whoa… …Details… So… Much… Details… : )

Is it rigged?

Now i´m finishing the final uv maps and retopo for mech and the jetpack. Then texture time and then the rig, soon … i hope

Wow, it’s great, I like it!

Time for another update, this time with a video too! Hope you folks like it and crits/tips/feedback very wellcome too

Video Turntable 360º

Stunning, really excellent.

Thanks man, a lot of effort here. Hope the texturing process will be successful…
