Really battled with the, “interpolate hair node” in Blender as it wouldn’t read the hair density mask so that added an extra day of trying to solve the issue.
I can see several issues, but feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
Thanks.
Update: I added the crown and jewellery and also tried fine-tuning the hair. Slightly different light setup too. Hope it’s an improvement.
Two things: hairs seem to be too thick(tho it’s fantasy race and could be explained) and skin seems like it’s made of cardboard, perhaps adjusting SSS and lightning could help. Again, since it’s fantasy, that race could have such harsh skin.
Sure. All good points. It was a quick project. I didn’t have time to paint a proper SSS map so I agree with you there. Making the hair thinner and denser is an easy fix as well. I need to comb the beard better too. Thanks so much for the feedback though.
Yeah definitely. I will spend a lot more time on the hair and it was my intention to have it much longer similar to how you have rendered it, but I spent so long fighting with the Interpolate hair node that it set me back a lot of time. May I ask how you adjusted the image, is it a Photoshop Paint over. It’s really excellently done. Totally seamless.
