battlecruiser, operational

pretty much done with my model of a battlecruiser, decided to give it some nice renders before working it into an animation.

Coming out of the clouds:

in front of a nebula:

close to a sun:

Shooting at something:

High res:

at sunset:

anyway, will probably do a few more and maybe? take requests.

Yamato Cannon maybe?

Damn, that’s nice! :eyebrowlift: Only thing I could possibly think of to improve it would to have some sort of blue, firey effect coming out of the engines.

:eek:Looks amazing!The render is made with cycles?

I missing some reference point which give sense of a size to the viewers. Battlecruiser should be huge and heavy, and I don’t feel it from renderings (which are very nice). You should have something nearside which have a size that is familiar to viewers as a reference.

For example, scene when Battlecruiser crush into buildings produced impressive feel of size (buildings as a reference of a size).

I got the scale thing, but because I´ve seen it ingame. You did a awesome job on the windows and interior! first time I realize the command bridge is that glass covered, and also the front. it´s like malls.

maybe smaller lighting interiour but more, and different colors like, monitors giving of different light in some sections.

a scale tip, https://www.google.se/search?q=siloutte+humans&sugexp=chrome,mod%3D7&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=MabjUefWN5T54QTQ8oHoBQ&biw=1276&bih=683&sei=NKbjUZrSIcfR4QTO24GAAw

you can have some silouettes of human on planes and place in the windows.

thanks for the comments, guys
@tmanrules97- working on it
@Gweden-thanks
@ulquiorraad- everything is cycles but the clouds
@kekeljevic/aermartin- So actually I designed the whole battlecruiser to be much, much smaller than the ones from the cinematics (i always thought the multiple-kilometer long ships were a bit excessive in size.) Originally I had planned the windows to give the model its sense of size, but I can see how they could be ambiguous. The one thing I did do was add railings and stairs and caution stripes but they were hard to view in the previous renders. Ill probably go back and add interior per aermartin’s suggestion.

view of the stairs/railings/cautionstripes:

Terrific model. The first image of it coming out of the cloud is great. The model reminds me of the fictitious Kalinin K-7.

Very nice!

Two minor things I noticed:

  1. The cloud scene could use with some background atmosphere contrails or or something to make it a bit more “busy” it’s a bit empty at the moment.

  2. The texture underside of the drop pods looks off, either the bar actually needs to be modeled or the texture needs to be redone so as not to appear so flat.

But again, kickass model! I have a bunch of Hyperion shots as some of my desktops, so I love the SC Battlecruiser.

I love spaceships. And this is a great one. How lond did these renders take?

Thanks for the posts & advice, here’s a yamato cannon render as requested earlier:

Baht-tol-cruis-ah… oh-pah-ray-tion-ahl.”

Ahh, I used to love spamming these babies against people on Battle.net all those many years ago in Brood War…when I wasn’t playing a Zerg scoundrel. =)

Serve the hive. =D

This is a wonderful model. Possibly the best 3D rendition of a Star Craft battle cruiser I’ve ever seen. The Yamato cannon shot, of course, is classic and well-done. How did I miss this thread?! =|

Dan

Awesome model. 5 stars.

@OnyxIdol- thanks
@JDaniels- Thanks! I’ve always been a big fan of your giant spaceship thread!

Thanks, Dailerob. I’m glad you like it. I would be very proud if I had produced a piece like this. 5 Stars from me, not just because of the iconic spaceship, or the fact that it’s a spaceship in itself, but that the modelling and renders are very well done. Looks like it belongs in a cinematic in SC3. :slight_smile:

Great work!

Dan

believe me, this is much better than the one in Blizzard cinematic.
