This sucks, my third attempt on making a face with a beard, but yet again, my face isn’t showing in the render, just the beard… any tips on how-tf to get it to show?
In the particles panel under display turn on the Mesh button.
thnx, now… the eyebrows… ofcourse, shorter hair… and assigned the verts to a new group… but if I change the settings, I lose the beard:P
You need to put them all in the same group and then assign them to VGroup under particle motion -> velocity. You can then use weight painting to set a value for how long the eyebrows should be. A Weight of 1 gives them full length as set by Normal and Random and a Weight of 0 gives them no length. Everything else is an inbetween value. There was a short, but great video tutorial that went over this concept (granted it was for a grass field). Perhaps look for it, or I’ll see if I can dig it up from somewhere.
Alternatively you could have multiple emitters by duplicating parts of your mesh and applying the particle effect to those duplicated parts once they have been separated into different objects.
