Does anyone actually use Beauty subdivide? And how did it get its name?
I don’t use it. It got it’s name because it’s just that beautiful.
It’s only there for looks…so we can gawk at its gray beauty.
If nobody is using beauty subdivide then this function should be retired, at least from the buttons panel where it seems to be just a waste of space.
You can’t evaluate the usefulness of this with simply one reply, there are many more Blender users than this.
I personally don’t use it, since I didn’t know it existed until now, but I guess it can be useful in certain situations.
I would use beauty subdivide, but Edge Ring Select with standard subdivide gives me more control, therefore I trust it better.
Maybe it could be replaced with a Catmull-Clark subdivision that only works on the selected part of the mesh.
