Bedroom interior design

A small project done with B2.8 and cycles, using simplify AO I was able to render under 40min at 4K. Amazing performance

I am a fan of minimalism and coziness, and you blended them brilliantly. I’d love to spend time in a room like this

Nice result!
Could you give more info about hardware and after how many bounce the AO kicked in.

hey, it was on 4770K + gtx1060. AO simplify was set to 2.

Convincing result and performance, good job! Last one on behance needs more samples, higher denoise value or similar curve like the others, stronger contrast reveals artifacts. First and last image of a set needs to be killer #
CA and lensblur works well for me, I assume some postpro outside blender?

Yeah I guess you’re right.
Post is really minimal. It’s mostly just blender filmic on high contrast and the CA is also in blender. Photoshop was just a little more fine contrast. Something that I want to do using blender compositing tools next time.

You’re #featured! :+1:

PS: I moved another image to the top as that one worked better for the featured thumbnail. Hope that’s ok!

Sure, thanks :+1:

Cool design.
I like the shots’ compositons.
They have that photographer’s eye…

I think some shots are a little too much overexposed. (Is this due to the simplify AO ?)

 no that’s me, I just liked it that way more.

Really great job! Nice design and composition.

What setup did you use for lighting please? Just env. lighting (with light portals) or did you add some additional lights? Thx

Maybe just minor thing - the cabinet legs seem to be a bit too small/thin.

Thanks, It’s env light(white color) + sun and portals.
That cabinet it’s supposed to be a boconcept piece but I don’t know how acurate it is.

It helps when experienced pixel pushers express the needs to the developers and put the downward pressure on them; many people don’t understand how important this is, including the folks generating the work itself.

The UI in Blender desperately needs pixel pusher driven colour management. I’ve written up a relatively simple example regarding curves, but the management needs to extend across every interface element.

99.995% of the problems can be solved short term with an OCIO Colour Transform node.

Speak up. Be heard.

Nice work.

Really nice and clean images. What was your settings for AO (distance, strength)? And did you use any shading trick for the curtain for better sampling?

AO strength was very low I think in most shots it was around 0.03 but then I changed to something higher cause carpet was too dark. Distance was something close to a 1m.
And yes curtains casts no shadows. No need for that.
