First of all, I’m an absolute beginner in Blender, so forgive me if I’m asking stupid questions.
I want to create a 3D banner which I plan to add on existing 3D logo. I bet most of you would do that in couple seconds, but I’m browsing tutorials for a week now and I’m still puzzled. Banner should look like this
V to set handle type. Vector handles at first, aligned next
W for specials, there’s subdivide and switch direction
Object data properties for the curve
Resolution to decrease amount of geometry
Twisting Z up to keep the surfaces vertical
Extrude to have surface extruded out of the curve
Also used mirror modifier to position the curve handles. Removed that before converting to mesh (Alt+C in object mode), then re-added it for the mesh. As a mesh, used loop cut (ctrl+R), edge slide (GG, g twice), and delete (X) to edit it.
Now, i would like to make it more distinctive. I was thinking of outlining the outer edges of banner with a frame of different color, or engrave front face with a groove tracing the outer edge. But, sadly, dont know how to do it…
