Having modeled numerous fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcrafts over the years, I decided to tackle the area of aviation that lies at the interface between the two by modeling and rigging the Bell XV-15 tiltrotor experimental aircraft first introduced in 1977. Being somewhat of an underrated predecessor to its more famous technological descendent the V-22 Osprey, the XV-15 paved the way for a lot of systems that would go on to be successfully employed in making controlled tiltrotor operation a viable reality.
