Best Blender Configuration for Apple M1 Max

Hi Guys,
New to the forum and new to Blender.
I am running Blender 3.2.2 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max , 32 GPU, 64G mem .
I have had experience with 3D Studio many many years ago (27 actually) but decided to jump back in with Blender and see if I can jump start the creative animal again.

I was wondering if there are any specific settings in Blender that will take advantage of the M1 Max chipset and GPUs. Donut render at 256 setting took about 12 sec a frame.
not sure how that relates to everyone else.

Thank you for any help in advance.

Welcome to the forum Will.

First, for settings I would make sure you are using the ARM version of Blender
Second, I would make sure you have the GPU setting turned on in the preference pull down.

Not too much beyond that for performance; other settings are mainly personal preferences.

Fell free to start at the top but the last 100 ish post will get you up to speed well enough.

So I understand, do I use the Intel or apple Silicon?
Apple M1 Max:

Use the Apple Silicon version. It’s made especially for the M series Macs.
