Hi all,
I want to see how difficult it is to move a rigged female hand using the bones, etc.
Do you have any advice as to where I could find a free model for me to train?
I dld 2 models from Sketchfab, but they didn’t have the rigging (unless I misunderstood)
Thanks a lot
To be honest, I doubt such a thing exists. I’ve never encountered a rigged hand separate from a whole rigged mesh, and…
It depends entirely on the rig. There’s no one standard rig for hands, and one rig won’t transfer from one hand to a different one. There’s no “one size fits all” in rigging.
To that end, I think you’ll be better served by learning how this works by doing it yourself:
Here’s one:
Note that it doesn’t “work out of the box”, you have to parent the hand to the rig, which in my opinion means it’s not actually rigged. But, still, I suppose it does fulfill the criteria
I did a very little googling, If OP wanted to spend more than 30 seconds searching, I bet they could find something even better.
A bit of the problem lies in the question… best place… it depends… realistic, lowpoly… what do you know already… and also:
(Not more difficult than male one )
If you don’t know much about armatures and bones… then you may don’t understand the rig…
Looking at rigging tutorials will also show you different approaches to rig something… like a hand (see above…) for a realistic hand (every fingr) in a animation or in a game not doing everthing (maybe just grabing a weapon…? … our fingers as one…)
Anyway: maybe this one :
…look where is was used already.
Problem is I’m not entirely sure what it is I’m looking for
I want to place 3d rings on model photos.
I know how to place them on cylinders and then make the cylinders shadow catchers.
The main problem now is to properly place and orient those cylinders.
I thought that maybe it would be better to use a hand rig with the cylinders attached. But I’m not sure, maybe it wouldn’t make anything easier.
I guess just positioning shadaw catching cylinders is easier than correclty posing a hand ( and even doing it with muscles, tendons, fat and exact human skin etc… )…
No I was not going to try to do that.
It’s really just to get the position of the cylinders right.
I guess I better forget the hand thing…
