Best way to attach a prop to rig after rigging is done?

Finished rigging a character with Auto-Rig Pro and forgot to add his sunglasses.

Thought I would just parent them to the body mesh, but it doesn’t work as the sunglasses don’t follow the rig.

So then I added an armature modifier to the sunglasses and chose the rig as the target. It kinda-sorta worked but they don’t follow along exactly and there is some deforming going on as well.

What is the best practice in this situation? Re-rig with the sunglasses on? I tried to transfer the weights, but I kept coming up with instructions for 2.79 and the procedure does not appear to be the same in 2.8.1.

you can parent the glass to the head bone, or add a bone in the armature and skin/parent the glass to it.

Yeah, I usually just parent the object to the bone. You could try one of those child of modifiers with the bone as a target too, if you need to be able to take them off, or you could just bake the sunglasses in with them parented, remove the parent, cut out the key frames for taking them off, and animate manually there.
