Best way to visualize seams on a sofa

Hello in the attached picture, you see a sofa I would like to model. Wat is the best way to create the seams at the edge of the cushions and arm rests?

Note i am not talking about seams in Blender for UV-wrapping, but real seams visible on the edges of pillows and cushions.

Select edge loop, duplicate it, convert it to curve, give it some thickness.
