Better Light icons? Altering the default icons?

I find the default Light/Lamp icons difficult to see. Is there a way to customize their appearance?

I don’t think there is a way… or should I say, an easy way. Blender is open source, so of course you can change it.

You can always just parent another object to you lights to get a different appearance.
(Make the child object unselectable)

Hi Jeric,

Have you tried changing the default color of your inactive lights to something easier for you to see. This is done from within the Themes > 3D Viewport Preferences? In the example below I’ve set a point and spot light to a bright blue.
