what is a bevel extrude and does blender have it becouse im reading a tutorial and it says do one of them if blender does not have these how can it be faked?
In 3ds max, bevel is basically an extrude with an inset scale on top. I would love an inset scale in Blender, and I think someone is working on adding stuff like that.

Extrude. Scale down a bit. (Depends on your purpose, but then usually move it up a bit.) Repeat.
