BGMC 9 | Clown Asylum

pretty cliche title  and pretty darn cliche concept if I say so myself :stuck_out_tongue: you are an individual clown who has been deemed “unfit” to perform on stage due your constant nervous breakdowns when faced with your greatest fear… (YOU GUESSED IT  ) pie…, you get taken to a clown asylum for you to be stashed away forever. You see otherwise and seek to escape “clown hell”. I’m thinking puzzle based mechanics most likely a top-down perspective game or perhaps a 2d sidescroller with of course heavy reference to your overly dramatic fear of pie…

all in all %100 percent cliche but hey it’s still worth a shot

P.S
sorry for the late thread announcement but i had lotsa things to do relating to reports and school the past day

hope to keep you all updated but for now goodbye

If you can make it right, who cares how cliche it is? Good luck!

Good luck, keep us updated.

OK so shoveled around a bit and managed to get some prototypes going, right now graphics is completely not a priority, as last BGMC I had way to much ambition art wise and failed spectacularly  so all I’m going for is creating a working “game” in 2-3 days and spending the rest polishing graphics.

So far I have about 80% of my trap systems done and about 30% level design (base level mesh) prop design is at about 10-20% and overall the game is starting to slowly come together ( albeit slightly ugly :’( )

Here are some screens of course to show how beautiful this game is  (Told ya I’m focusing finishing > graphics :stuck_out_tongue: )

And another update that’s not really an update :stuck_out_tongue: here I have one of my traps which has gone all weird looking inside the engine, In the screen shot the good trap is what its supposed to look like and the bad trap… well you can see o.O I’m not sure whats causing it as I’ve had this issue before across 3 different computers so I’m just putting it out here where anyone with any knowledge could possibly give me a reason for this problem :’( anyway that’s all for now, please don’t laugh at my cry-engine beating graphics  I know they are ugly but TIME man TIME

Got to my good computer and completely scrapped the original files and re-amped them to something more graphically acceptable  I’ve got a test demo up, (download on the bottom) so far I haven’t included any “traps” into the demo with the only goal being to reach safety whilst avoiding an unspeakable horror O.O

Also included in the update:

  • retextured models

  • new level

  • high level shaders:
    -bloom
    -ssao

  • awesome sound effects

  • prettier looks

Game Demo:

P.S. this is only 64 bit for now as that’s the version of blender I’m using
sorry for the inconvenience I’ll have a 32 bit version up soonish
