I would like some feedback on the creature I had been working on for some time.
There is also a panther version

Really great work!! Animals are insanely hard to do.
How’d you do the textures? They look great!
I like it, but from the direct front view, the main body looks too wide.
Thanks…for the textures I just project some images onto the model in different views with the stencil tool in texture painting mode
Thanks for the tip
Very nice!
The nose part that attaches to the cheek could be a little thicker IMO.
I know you posted about two months ago, but I need to say that the front legs are too thick, all the legs are too straight, and the tail isn’t connecting right. Love the fur though. ![]()
Thanks guys. I, unfortunately, lost the Blender file for this creature, but thought of starting a similar character this year. Here’s the progress so far:
One more WIP. Still haven’t done a lot yet. For example the eyes are just placeholder spheres with vertex paint and a glass material on the top. And grooming and texturing needs more work. Around the eyes and ruff for example
These look really good. The only critique I can give is make them ‘stand on their toes’ a bit more. Cats and dogs don’t stand ‘flat footed’. If you compare their bone structure to humans it is very similar in a crazy kind of way. For example, if you start at the pelvis and work your way down the leg. The first join, of course, is the hip, followed by the knee. The next joint on their legs, the backward angled one is the equivalent of our ankle and heel bones. So on from there you get to the part they are standing on which would be the toes. It pretty much the same for the front paws too. The rear pad on the front paws is equivalent to the top portion of our palm just on the underside of the knuckles. The rest of the hand doesn’t touch the ground.
Excellent work though.
Thanks, I’ll try and work on that when doing the the paws.
Did a whole lot more. Worked on the groom a bit more, the eyes, eyelids and some shader stuff. Still have a long way to go
