This is what I’d consider a full-fledged scene, although it’s actually composed of two combined ones. My goal here is to explore the potential of creating anime primarily in 3D. The buildings were modeled from references I found online, inspired by a particular anime (which, admittedly, isn’t hard to guess).
The architecture is fairly simple, and everything you see in this scene was created in 3D.
This scene is heavily influenced by old street photography and classic black-and-white films. I borrowed the black-and-white aesthetic from them, which has a softer look compared to modern grayscale styles. Back then, the visuals weren’t as high-contrast as they are today.
Though I don’t intend for my anime to be in black and white—in fact, I’d prefer it to be colorful—this grayscale style was a fascinating experiment.
This scene also serves as part of a short animation clip I created here, envisioned as a fragment of a much larger project.
