Black Hole Sigma

A simulated black hole, now with Kerr effects and a much better overall setup!
I started this project yesterday evening, and used what I learned from my previous seventeen black hole renders
Unfortunately, I messed up the animation on the disk (and forgot to include camera animation), so the animation is a bit weird, but thankfully, it manages to convey a certain sense of motion
2 hour, 29 minutes to render the animation on a 3070 laptop gpu

I am curious, the black hole looks a little odd because the center isn’t round, is it because of the effects you put on it, or did it happen on accident? I know you are a pro at black holes, so it is probably one of the many effects you simulated, but it just looks a little odd.

They only get better. :grinning: Great job. The animation looks good.

It’s my attempt at simulating a rotating black hole, which are asymmetric, so it’s intentional

Very cool. I can’t wait for 9th-grade physics!

Protip: read as much as you can about those types of things from places like Wikipedia
It’ll save you a lot of work in school later

Update:
Made a second, smoother animation
accidentally made it too slow this time though haha

I actually prefer the slower one. It makes it feel larger for some reason. :grinning:
