Blade Runner-inspired Work in Progress

Hey everyone,

I got myself back into Blender in 2018 and wanted to start posting newest works in progress. I’ll include current state of renders as well as some fun “before” shots! Would love opinions and feedback about what’s working and what’s not. In particular, I’m still struggling a bit with creating dynamic and varied fogs/mists without doing smoke sims or something like that.

Anyway, using this project as a platform for getting better at modeling in particular. Thanks for any and all opinions!

UPDATE:
Starting to add smoke sims for steam/smoke.

A little re-lighting and re-texturing on this one (2/26/2019)

I like this alot actually  Well done

This is looking great, I’m very much looking forward to the end result!

I remember blade runner on the nes. I had memorized every action needed to beat the game, which was given by the nintendo power magazine.

Great lighting and colors. I especially love the 3 closeup views in one image.
The floor on the inside view is only tiles, maybe add some variety there, diferent tiles towards the room walls or some different pattern somewhere. Also the plant(?) at the window could need some leaves.

Villeneuve did great by using that yellow / grey colors in his movie.

every single picture is worth looking at! the colored lighting truly makes the blade runner aesthetic pop. im wondering, how did you do those lens flares? compositing isnt my greatest strength, and id love to know and learn.

Hi voradtras, and thank you! I used After Effects and the Optical Flares plug-in from Video Copilot to simulate anamorphic lens flares.

These are good ideas, Toxic Tuba!

New stills above. More to come! Finally digging back into this scene.

would be cool to see the result in the BGE or UPBGE
