Edit: Changed link…

Oops!
My mistake…:o

man check out the blend demo files inside the 242 folder.

he array scene is quite nice.

alsoo what is quite nice is the image compositor. renderings the plane with the shadow bluring it and than copying the layer with the shadow caster of it and merge it into one image. that saves so much time.

EDIT: wow check out the array blend file!!!

I thought this version was meant to have FFMPEG support? Does this mean that FFMPEG is built in, or do we have to build the FFMPEG into it ourselves? I can’t find where you can enable FFMPEG anywhere, anyone else know how to enable FFMPEG?

Apparrently, FFMPEG should only be active in the Linux builds, but I’ve read reports that it isn’t. Windows/OSX/whatever-else-people-use won’t get it till after the release.

I am running linux and can’t find the ffmpeg support either :frowning: The folder inside the RC3 tarball is named RC2b rather than RC3 – don’t know if this is a mistake or not. The game engine demos segfault in this release but worked fine in RC2a.

Do rc3 have a NGON?

I was searching it but didn’t find it so far.

So there is no ffmpeg support in the binaries? Do I have to compile it myself? I’m using Kubuntu and installed the ffmpeg package, but can’t get it to work.

@xjazz: There will be no ngons in 2.42. The author of the project stopped working on it and proposed it as a summer of code project, but noone wanted to do that. At least this are my informations.

:frowning:

Thanks for the info.

RC3a for Linux is available!! Get crackin’ !!

I had a problem with the threads option, it screwed up the restitching of the image to where every texture was majorly distorted. Other than that, the node editing is friggin awesome, though it takes a little getting used to.
