Blender 3D on an iMac G5, is it good enough for 3D animation

Thank you for your time. Has anyone used Blender in an iMac G5? Is it fast enough to produced result like these two, celebrated independent animations:

Please advise. Recommendations are welcomed.

Of course it’s fast enough.

Work of that calibur is going to be attributed to the artist using the computer, not the machine itself.

Whatever you get, just make sure the machine has a graphics card.

Rustboy isn’t being produced using top of the line hardware and software; the guy making it, Brian Taylor, says on his site that the software package he uses was already out of print when he started on the project a few years ago. Rustboy works (and it knocked my socks off when I first came across it, it was really the first “indie CG animation made by one guy” movie I knew of) because of good storytelling and because of the creation of a consistent world and mood.

They are certainly fast enough. I’d change one thing though… get a three button mouse for heaven’s sake!
