Blender 4.1

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to reading this post.

I’ve been using Blender 4.1 for a week or so and I’m having some trouble trying to figure out the new shader editor.

What am I doing wrong with this texture? Why is the plane looking completely flat if normal map and displacement are on their places??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

What type of Render are you using?

If it’s Eevee, you can watch this one tutorial right down below:

Seems to me as if the “Scale” parameter of the Displacement node may be too low, and that might’ve caused the actual problem.

daaa

Have you checked your options.
※ It also looks like the normal is upside down.

If you are looking for the functionality of EVEE-Next, you can enable it in the developer option of blender 4.2.

I’m using cycles, normals seem to be just fine.

Not really sure where the problem is

Well… your scale of the displacement node is with 0.065… very subtile… ??

( Also what @oo_1942 posted…)

But on the other side: looking at you image, at the bottom, ther are some shadows… so when they are not part of the alebdo map (which would eb a very lousy texture)… then i guess they appear becauseof the normals and/or displacement. And such a result also depends heavily on the use of the light sources.
So i do not really understand what you are trying to archieve… or what you think is wrong.

thanks for your help!
