Win10, 64-bit
I have an existing Blender 4 installation. The new version is out so I downloaded it from the website and ran the 64-bit installer. Everything goes well until the middle of the install when I get an error:
Error wring to file <path>\1d43660.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory.
where <path> is the correct path to the installation folder. The file exists but it’s 0 bytes. Deleting it doesn’t help. Running the installer with administrator privileges doesn’t work, either. Online help suggests that .rbf files are files created by the Windows installer for reversion/uninstall purposes.
Clearly, the installer has worked before since a previous install was successful. Can I not install a new version over an existing install? Do I have to install fresh every time?
