Blender affecting macbook pro audio

I’m trying to learn Blender, but when I have the application open on my macbook it affects the audio of whatever I am listening to (distortion, constant repeated skipping). This makes it hard to learn as I can’t play video tutorials when the program is open. Is there a solution to this problem? I won’t be using Blender to make sound. Can I turn that component off?

What version of Blender are you using? What generation MacBook Pro are you using? Other than video tutorials, are you running any other applications at the same time? What are you doing in Blender when the audio is skipping? Is your view type solid, wireframe, material preview or rendered?
