Blender application is running very slow

Good day! I’m having problems with my blender application on my ASUS rog GL553vw, I installed the application and when I open it the application is unusable for it’s very slow response. I used blender before with my older laptop which has a GT525m GPU and low - medium specs and Its working fine. I do not understand why it is very slow with my new and more powerful laptop. did anyone experienced this ? thanks in advance.

I also get this message when I launch the application.

so do i i have the same issue on my Hp laptop with windows 10 and can’t find the reason to it

In regards to the error message, that can be fixed by changing the audio sampling rate in the user preferences from 48kHz to 44.1kHz.

As shown below, change to 44.1 and then save user preferences

In regards to application speed… all i could find is a small mention in this article here - http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/review/2441881/asus-rog-gl552vw-review/page/2

It mentions at the very end -

“What isn’t significantly influenced by the presence of a power cable is the ROG GL552VW’s strong capability in non-gaming tasks. Arguably by accident, it’s fairly suitable as a design aid, with silky smooth performance in video and image editing and 3D modelling. The only hint of slowdown was a slight delay when rendering in Blender.”

There are several reports on the tracker about the immense happiness and joy that GPU drivers bring to software development.

On the Nvidia side (others are guilty as well) there is the lag in blender on certain cards - usually M laptop ones.

Search for bug tickets/reports:
T49758, T50214, T50154, T50142, T50175, T50191

Most likely is some problem with the power saving settings with certain drivers.

There have been reports of Solidworks (not quite the same app I know but still graphics intensive) running very slowly lately on laptops. By any chance have you updated Nvidia drivers lately or has Windows automatically updated it? SW can be restored to full performance by going back to an older driver. 361.75 I believe is ok. May be the same issue which by the sounds of it may revert to software openGL or such. HTH
