Blender Built-in Physics based Animation (IPO)

(sorry for the cross-forum post, I need some feedback :wink:

This is a new bullet-blender build, with a new feature that allows for physics based animation, baking game physics into animation curves (ipo).

See the included blend file for explanation.
Basically this is a build-in version of a script called game2ipo, with the option to reset the animation ipo’s.

End result, use ALT-A to play:

Feedback welcome, positive in the forums, negative over email :wink:

Erwin

Your project is coming along very well! Congratulations and thank you!

It’s great Erwin (don’t feel too guilty about cross posting - most people are feeling pretty happy with the new game engine developments)

Very easy to set up and use

I’m sure you have thought about defining a sample rate for the curves? Maybe on a sub entry on the game menu?

1 = coarse sampling
10 = highest sampling

Though I’m guessing there are python scripts to reduce IPO curve complexity anyway?

Very very usefull :smiley: , this is what I was looking for :wink:

Really cool, I’m not sure whats going on under the hood, but the frame rate drops steadily the longer it goes.
probably because its writing the curves, but anyway i’m sure animators will have a field day with this :slight_smile:

I have just uploaded a linux version at:

Excellent! Thing that i had always wanted. Thanks so much. (sorry for late reply. on dialup …download…

I love you, man :smiley:

Now I’ll get to test this feature (I missed it much)

This is amazing usefull, Imagin the time you save making a animation where a person, animals falls dead on the ground, or a realtime movie before a game starts, amazing :o

-Wow… very nice work erwin!It’s so useful.Keep on!
