blender closing on left click

System:
Windows XP (32) SP3
Dual Xeon 2.8
3GB RAM
Radeon HD 4600 series, 1GB
Catalyst install manager reports that drivers are up to date.

This happens with 2.66 and 2.66a

I can edit prefs, open files, etc, but if I left click anywhere in the view window Blender closes. I’ve searched here and google but haven’t found anyone reporting a similar problem.

Any ideas?

Try “Restore Factory Settings”. If the Left-Click-Quit doesn’t happen any more, it means you accidentally changed the shortcut for Quit and saved the Preferences one way or the other. (Check the shortcut at the bottom of the File menu.)

Since I really don’t want to save my preferences with such a nasty shortcut, I haven’t been able to reproduce this behavior so it’s just a hunch. I remembered that I found it really stupid how easy it is to set any shortcut to just Left-Click.

Thanks, Kaluura. Unfortunately that didn’t help. The shortcut is Ctrl-Q. Interesting when I use it I get the “OK” dialog, which I don’t get with left click, so it’s definitely something else.
