Blender Dust Particles

I am making an underwater scene (see pic attached). However, I am having trouble tackling Blender’s new particle system. I would like to have floating particles in my scene.


Is there any good way to do this? Also it would be preferred if instead of just circular dust, If i could make some strands appear as well. Does anyone know a way to make something like this with Blender’s new particle system?

Well, first I suggest reading the wiki on the new particles. It helped me a lot and I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out how to do it. It’s such a powerful tool… I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m sure that after a few hours of experiments you’d find out. But if I had to guess, I’d bet on boids or keyed particles.
