Blender.exe only opens a Blank black CMD window?

Hi,

I’ve been trying to get Blender to work for the past 3 hours and havn’t been able to find a solution to my problem. I have downloaded a few different versions of blenderx64 (2.7, 2.6) for windows and every install has only given me a blank command window when I open the program.

-i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00Ghz
-8g RAM
-Windows x64
-I have a GTX 680 graphics card with the latest drivers from Nvidia Geforce’s site
-I have installed the latest Python 3.4.0
-I have deleted “blender foundation” and done another fresh install

If i could get any help it would be really great. I’ve spent so much time trying to get this to work and I don’t want to use any other software for this job as of now.

You could try installing a 32bit version of blender to see it that helps

Are you sure it isn’t an antivirus/firewall issue that would block blender ?

Do you by any chance use a non-standard desktop theme on Windows 7/8 that might interfere with the display? Especially WindowBlinds is known to cause issues with Blender. Try disabling the Aero desktop effects and see if that helps.

THANK YOU!! I did have WindowBlinds on and I reverted back to the normal Win 7 theme and BINGO it worked perfectly. You have just made my day thanks IkariShinji!

Do you have the required 2008 redistributable package installed for your OS?
