Blender.exe starts as a document (WINDOWS) HELP

Still thanks for the help,

do you think I should still do what you mentioned or is it not needed anymore?

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]
@=""%1" %*"

“IsolatedCommand”=""%1" %*"
Claas

You can simply run regedit and check manually if the key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT… is set correctly… if so there is no need to patch the reg.

This registry entry is simply that windows knows on an double click that an .exe is something to execute, but it seems your system has some other serious trouble. If you really expect a worm or trojan run McAfee Stinger its a selfprotecting exe (oh sweet irony) to search for the latest worms and trojans… or simply grab Knoppicillin (german link/heise media link, aber du bist eh deutscher hab ich gesehen  ) or some other system rescue live linux.

Yep

yesterday I infected the system.
Symantec is right now from time to time reporting problems.

you should consider useing avast antivirus. it’s a 7 in one program, some of the programs are active meaning they scan as the files are accessed, you can set the levels of protection. it’ll alert you to any virus and stop it before it has a chance to do anything. an alarm goes off and it pop up tells you what tried to infect you and from where. it’s like a car alarm, if you set it too sensative it goes off all the time, just change the settings rather than disableing it if it’s going off to much. it’ll still catch the really bad stuff and can even scan zipped files before opening them. it’s one of cnets top rated downloads. it also is free for home use.

Avast´s pretty good, but bit bloated…
AntiVir is light weight, but update servers are often slow… but its already better.
Symantec… well… if AntiVir would be Linux, Symantec Security would be far beyond Vista
