Blender export is unwelding verts?

This is driving me crazy. I’m editing the UVs of a Daz model and seem to be running into something that I have no idea what the cause could be.

Before exporting my obj from Blender, these circled faces/verts are welded, part of the mesh, and will select with everything else when using L select in UV view.

After exporting, I’ll bring the model back into Blender just to make sure everything’s working properly; however, these verts are no longer welded and will not select with the rest of the island when using L select.

There are 2 identical sets of verts that are doing this. They appear to be a portion of the inner corner of each eye lid. They are marked sharp, but that doesn’t seem to be affecting any of the other areas that are marked sharp.

Any ideas?

UVs never are really welded, they’re only treated as welded if the coordinates are within a very small distance. You can observe this behavior by zooming very far in.

I suppose that during your import/export process some amount of floating point accuracy is lost, so they end up slightly further apart.
