Blender Eye Noob to Pro 2.67

I was trying to create a Pixar eye using the tutorial on wiki Blender Noob to Pro - Pixar looking Eyes
The tutorial is for Blender 2.49 and I’m trying to achieve the effect with Blender 2.67. I mapped most of the things correctly (apparently) but I’m facing problem with the Cornea Material. Here are the renders with and without cornea.


The cornea mesh is supposed to provide a glassy/watery shine to the eye ball. I’ve tried reducing the ZMask Alpha Transparency value, Specularity etc., it still “White washes” the pupil and Iris. I’ve tried with Traceable on/off too - no difference.

I’m attaching the Blender file, I’ve also packed the iris texture into the .blend. Any pointers would be of great help.
