Blender for product Design and manufacturing

Hello Blender Artists!I’m excited to share my workflow on using Blender for product design and manufacturing. I designed and CNC machined a functional electric guitar using Blender. This project showcases Blender’s versatility in 3D modeling and preparing models for real-world manufacturing.

Here is a video that showcase’s my workflow:

That is very cool, I’m hoping to do something similar in the future!

I also wanted to give you a heads up about a couple of projects that you might find interesting:

BlenderCAM will allow you to calculate toolpaths and export Gcode from Blender. It’s been around since 2012, and it’s free and open-source and actively maintained (I started contributing to it a little while ago).

And, CAD Sketcher allows to use a more CAD-like workflow with parameter based, constrained sketches that can be extruded into 3 dimensions. Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but it usually gets mentioned alongside BlenderCAM, so I figured I’d mention it, too.

Thanks for the kind words and the suggestions! BlenderCAM and CAD Sketcher both sound fantastic. I’m excited to experiment with them. Thanks for sharing!
