My entry for this compitition is finished.
It´s shows a dark rider from the Lord of the Rings on his way to the Weathertop.
I made it fall, because in the book Frodo reaches the Weathertop in october.

The picture was rendert devided in for and background 100 samples in Cycles each.
I had a sunlamp with strength of 60, so 100 samples were enough.
The fog was done with Blender Internal and everything put together in the compositor.
Also i had a bit of color correction on it with Photoshop. I hope you like it.

This is my entry for the competition.
I tried to get the mood similar to The Dark Knight.
Modeled in Blender 2.63 and rendered in Cycles. Little color correction done in Photoshop.

I reckon that’s the winning piece so far!! Very nice use of colour, and lovely lighting! The scene and rider are also done extremely well! Loving it- well done!

That’s just brilliant! Replicates the scene perfectly, but i can tell it has your own style! Very nice render!

So, I was pressing along tirelessly with my entry and wouldn’t you know it… my computer’s logic board gave out; I was so close to finishing. It’s being repaired, but I doubt it will be ready in time to meet the deadline. Anyway my entry was from “The Day After Tomorrow”
