Blender installation error message?

I remember when i downloaded blender two days ago, i received an error message which says that there is not PYTHON installed on my system.

What is python? How can i install it? Does this is mean my copy of Blender is not not fully featured or lacking something? Can i still use it to model/animate/render stuffs?

Download and install 2.4.3

I went on the python website, i can see that there version 2.5 is released. Is it ok if i install it instead of the 2.4.3?

I seem to remember a post recently that suggested there mught be problems with using python 2.5 and Blender 2.4 or 2.4a. It is better to stay with python 2.4.3 for the time being.
