blender stopped working

Hi, I’m new to this forum. Some weeks ago Blender, installed on a PC running Windows XP SP2, has suddenly stopped working. After the DOS box has opened, blender opens, but only the title bar is visible; the working area is black. I’ve tried and reinstalled Blender, even a new version and the .zip version, but to no avail. Could someone please help me? Thanks

Sounds like graphics drivers.

You could try turning down the video card hardware acceleration amount and see if that makes any difference to Blender display.

Also see if you have the most uptodate video drivers. And make sure you have your video driver set to the highest number of colors it can display.
