Blender viewport performance has become low

Hi,

I think Blender has become more and more cluttered, too many stuff slowing down global performance.

I’m using an RTX 3D Card, and using latest Blender version 5.X frame rate is not smooth at all, like it was 10 or 20 frames per second, whatever i use Vulkan or OpenGL.

Switching back to Blender 2.8, frame rate comes back to something like 60 fps in texture paint mode again.

Will there be some work on performance ?

Otherwise, i really think switching back to 3D Coat and other apps, and keeping Blender only for rigging and animation work.

Which one? What are your other system specs?

recent RTX 3050, RTX are among latest ones.
Blender should run well even on older 3D cards, having slow performance on a model of some 5000 faces in paint mode in texture basic shading mode with any RTX card is a shame.

Difference between 2.8 and latest 5X Blender version viewport frame rate is huge.

So is the feature set. 2.8 is 7 years old, and will naturally run faster on lower spec machine machines.

Of course, you didn’t mention your system spec beyond the 3050, which is itself an entry-level card. The first thing I would check is to make sure that your drivers are somewhat up-to-date.

do you have any addons you are running?
