I have recently been working with motion capture in Blender and I am having some difficulty understanding how blender deals with IK bones during the retargeting process. With the picture I have attached, I have successfully transferred all the keyframes from the motion capture rig to the character rig, but I am trying to get the IK functionality working so I can use the extra Mocap tools(like fixing feet scape).
Here is the question I have, How can I use the IK Constraints that I have already in my character rig to take the keyframes of the motion capture rig when I am Retargeting? No matter what I do, the IK option doesn’t make any sense. When I enable it, the only thing it does is add an IK constraint to the bone and adds the other IK checkboxes to determine how many bones.
I have looked on the documentation but it seems to be cryptically vague?! I am wondering if I need to retarget the keyframes to the FK rig and then preform another step to convert that to the IK constraints. I saw that Makehuman has a script to convert FK to IK but it has to use its rig and I really would like to use my own rig. I am at a loss at what to do and any help or advice would be awesome!
