Blue Alien for short live-action film

Hi Everyone!

I’m currently working on a short live-action film where the antagonist will a scaly alien. You will see that he has no face. I decided to do this to avoid unnecessary complexity in this project. I haven’t rigged the model yet. I am working on a weapon for him. I haven’t really done much rigging. Any good tutorials or discussions on the subject?

The texture I used is a modified texture from the open materials repository.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I decided to work on his weapon. Here it is.

looks nice so far, but you might want to touch up the texturing on the alien a bit, have big scales on the back and little ones on the belly. It makes the character more…biologically possible, and makes them more realistic. It also shows that you’ve dedicated yourself to the project. If you look up some pics of lizards, you’ll see a variety of scales, and where they should go. for more textures, try cgtextures.com

Thanks for the suggestion. How would you go about doing that? I’m using procedurals and i’m not sure how I would make some of the scales smaller or bigger in different places?
