Thank you very much!:slightly_smiling_face: It is quiet inspiring to have been featured in your great Forum Gallery for me as a newcomer to 3D art. I am basically a traditional artist practising 3d software like Blender for about one and half years. Best regards! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a lot :slightly_smiling_face: I have used ‘Modular Tree’ add-on (older version) for creating trees (without leaves), and used particle system for leaves.

Not sure if you’re allowed to talk about it, but out curiosity, what kind of commission was this for?

Amazing! Can you give me the specs of your pc? Processor cores and speed, gpu and ram size, i mean. Sorry, just curious cause my pc hangs if I try to make any scene with trees or grass in it.

It is for a large print on canvas. Exclusively made for a private collector.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:
Amd fx-8350 eight-core processor, amd radeon rx 460 graphics, 24 gb ram, linux ubuntu 16.04, blender 2.79.5.
Rendered in 3 parts using border, with 1024 samples, 237 x 237 tile size and cpu+gpu rendering. Time taken altogether 85 hours (25+35+25).

When you use the blender build that has gpu + cpu, it’s best to use smaller tile sizes (16x16 or 32x32). They optimized the gpu to render faster with the tile sizes you would normally use for the cpu.

Oh, thanks, looks like all I need is some more cpu cores

I am curious what resolution you set in Blender? 4K or 8K?
