Hi everybody, looks like Blur Studio is releasing some tools & scripts for all the people for free, mainly this tools are focus in 3D Max and XSI BUT there’s is some scripts in python included, so Blender’s developers you may take a look at these scripts so you may can bring some power tools from one of the mayor VFX house, here’s the links:
These tools are all for a 3ds Max pipeline, it really serves no use to the Blender community. Anyways I had already seen this thread on CGtalk a week ago.
Just because they are Python scripts, doesn’t mean that they automatically work in Blender. If we wanted to get those scripts working in Blender, it would take considerably less time to start from scratch rather than port them over to Blender. Thanks for the thought, though.
Well it is something for free . . . except we already have plenty of code that no-one will use. Thanks to Blur anyways . . . it’s not all mega corporations who give free stuff like this.
I had a long look at the page and 99% of it is really platform specific… There’s one or two that may be interesting like a max spline importer python script and mocap transfer, but they’re tailored for xsi, and may take as much time to rewrite as writing something from scratch.
hi everyone.
Just wanted to precise something
Blur studios never made any effects for fight club or panic room
if was Buf compagnie, a french vfx shop.
netherless, Blur did some incredible animations for over a decade and have VERY interesting free tools (blur beta tools exists for a very long time). enjoy without hesitation!
