Bone rotation problem

Hi Everybody,

I want to copy the rotation of a single bone to several others, which works nice with constrains, but the rotation of the bones itself, when they are created, are strange.
I duplicated the bone on the left and rotated it 90° around a common center (not shown). As a result the local coordinates of the bone on the right are no aligned with the world any more. what can i do abut that? It would be nice to have the local x-Axis pointing to the right.

rotate it to where you want then press Ctrl+A

Nothing happens. Neither in Pose mode nor in Edit mode.

Found the solution. The bone roll can be modified in the menu. Armature->Bone Roll->Clear Roll. This lets the z-Axis point up. Other possibilities are also available.
