Lots going on in warbirds world.
There’s a lot of talk going on about perhaps making the game modern and most important using Blender in its workflow!
All my hard work may now pay off.
I’ve lobbied pretty hard to dump 3D MAX as our main modeling program and creating a plug in that will allow Blender to export the files necessary for Warbirds.
If anyone can give me a few contacts that may help get that going I’d realy appreciate it.
Here’s one of the two models I’m currently building.
There’s been a lot of work done to try and beef up our early war plane set (C.200, Mig-3, I-16, P-36) and now we have the ugliest and almost completely useless Brewster Buffalo F2A3.
This is the Marine version. There will be a Finnish version as well.
Still lots to do.
This particular aircraft was built 99% in Blender. It’s the first to incorporate helpers (empties) as a control point for all the control surfaces and the wheels etc.
Pivot points are the only thing I think that 3D MAX has over Blender.
Although from what I understand modern games may use more armatures that pivot loin rotations.
Anyway it’s almost done, just trying to make the cockpit look half way decent.
Thanks for looking.
And many thanks for all those who answered my dumb questions!
is it sort of low poly textured ?
some pic seems to show it as being low poly
mind you If use in a game it should be
happy cl
Both external and internal are supposed to be low poly…
I’m not exactly the best at this and our budget is external = 7,000 polys and 3,500 for the internal.
I’m still trying to make a scent mesh but it god in game and it works.
There are 3 texture maps 2048x2048 DDS.
