This is the completed version of the famous Mk IV tank as employed during the Great War. Specifically, it is supposed to represent the female version of the tank consisting only of Lewis machine guns rather than the 6-pounder guns as seen on male versions. As for the texturing of the tank hull, I decided to represent a well-used but preserved version of the vehicle.
The detail on this thing is absolutely incredible! Great job!
Thanks @LMalachi. I must admit that the relatively simple overall shape of the tank meant that I could spend a greater deal of time on the smaller details without losing my mind!
Lol I get that. Your work really shows and has really inspired me to continue my work with my M1 Abrams.
Really good job, tank looks great. Please take with a pinch of salt but personally, I don’t like the background you put it in. I don’t think it brings out the best of your model and textures. Other than that, top marks, but again I’m not one to judge as I need to work on presenting my models better.
All the best. Happy blending!
Thanks, @ErraticStatic for the constructive criticism. I will admit that the background was a bit of a last-minute thing. A fully 3D background may have worked better (probably something like depicting trench warfare - mud, barbed wires, etc.) and as you put it ‘bring out the best’ in my modeling and textures.
Ya, though we’d like to, we can’t be expected to make a 3d environment for every model we make, it’s just not feasible, time wise. But with your images it’s more about too much visual and colour information, more contrast between subject and background could go a long way I feel. Still a wonderful job.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
