This grease pencil animation is based on a really sweet moment at the park with my kids. My youngest loves chasing bubbles, so when she saw this giant bubble breaking away from the rest of the bubbles she pursued it, tracking it with her pointed finger. My son realised she wasn’t going to be able to reach it, so he steps in to help, lifts her to pop the bubble, then gently places her back down.
I had captured the moment on camera and after watching Team Miracles doing some rotoscoping, I thought I would give it a go for this to preserve the moment in a nice way that I could maybe printout as a flip book to give to my kids. I had recorded them from a distance, so it was not great quality so large parts were hard to make out, but the challenge has been a good learning journey.
