Bugatti Veyron

This is a project that I started as sort of a gift for my friend. I hope you like it! I can share the .blend file if many people are interested.

-Edit-

Well, for what it’s worth, here’s the .blend file:

.blend? i’m interested
i think the red is a bit oversaturated
otherwise, very good

Looks like a very well done car.
I am interested in the .blend as well.

Could use a lot of work on finetuning the lighting setup and textures? Other than that, cant say much. Gives the feeling of “Unfinished” work though.

Thank you for the comments everyone! I’m calling this one finished because I accomplished what I wanted. It’s not perfect, of course, but I learned a ton about materials and shaders and whatnot. I spent about 1 day modelling and 5 days tweaking the material settings. I hope that you guys can learn something from me! The link is in the first post now. The file size is 3.5 mb, hence the hosting with Mediafire.

Just to see the difference, I decided to try rendering the car (at 50% size) from 2.49b and then 2.5 Alpha 0. I was surprised at the results. I knew that 2.50 had raytracing optimized, but I didn’t realize how much it was improved.

2.49b rendered in 11 minutes 48.43 seconds
2.5 Alpha 0 rendered in 3 minutes 28.33 seconds

2.49b took 3.5 times longer than 2.5 Alpha 0! That is a huge improvement! I know that 2.5 isn’t production ready, but it is a huge advancement.

The strange thing is that the renders didn’t come out quite the same, look for yourself and see the differences, I’m not sure what caused it.

Very well modeled car. I’ll have to agree with guys about the materials you put in there. It can be executed on a much better way,but its your call. Also missing a couple of grills…,but anyway - awesome work.
Take care

i am siding with bl33d here this feels unfinished one day of modeling is far too short a time period to do justice to any realistic car model. if you have never looked at photos of veryon before you can look at this and think hmm cool model but if you are gear head like me who read magazine like ‘top gear’ picking out this tiny little flaws here and there becomes easy
