Bumarin For Sculptor

Bumarin is an environment in which the user draws 3D mesh thanks to the grease pencil . The initial idea is based on the approach of traditional sculpture that from a set of clay pieces generates a unified sculpture. Bumarin thus proposes 7 pencils allowing to generate 3D pieces of clay, each pencil having its own specificity.

Bumarin is useful for:

  • Sculpting and anatomy modeling
  • Prototyping and concept sketching

Features

  • 7 pencils : Claypencil , Tubepencil , Revpencil , Dynaclay , Dynatube, SonicBum and Leeloo
  • Parametric clays (adjust manually or through parameters your clays)
  • Instant array ( multiple clays generation in one stroke with Sonic Bum )
  • Smart remeshing ( remesh modifier or voxel remesh depending on the context )
  • Speed up sculpting ( 3 times faster than a normal process in sculpt mode)
  • Better shape control (each clay is a shape you can edit easily as if it was a Mask )
  • Non destructive workflow with automated sculpt ( Clay mode / Baked mode )
  • Multiple sculpture generation (select parts of your model you want to generate)
  • Create and share your own brushes
  • Transform your sculpt into brush

Clay spherize and smoothing

-In CLAY mode select the clay, spherize it [F9]
-In CLAY mode select the clay, smooth it [F10]

Tubepencil

-DRAW mode [F3]

-Draw a stroke following the z-axis [LMB]
-Clay generation [RMB] -Toggle CLAY mode [F1]

DynaClay

-DRAW mode [F5]
-Draw [LMB]
-Clay generation [RMB]
-Toggle CLAY mode [F1]
-Adjust parameter in panel (thickness, bevel, resolution)
Notice: To use DynaClay, after drawing a stroke you must stay in the same view before generating the clay(it means that you must not move or rotate your view between your drawing and your mesh generation)

DynaTube

-DRAW mode [F6]
-Clay generation [RMB]
-Toggle CLAY mode [F1]
-Adjust parameter in panel (thickness, bevel, resolution)

Leeloo array

-DRAW mode [F8] Draw a cross section
-In the leeloo panel choose the count number of sections
-Add a proxy control object by clicking in the panel and move the proxy to design the mesh [LMB]
-Clay generation [RMB]
-Toggle CLAY mode [F1]

Leeloo manual

-DRAW mode [F8]
-In the leeloo panel set the count number of sections to 1
-Draw a cross section [LMB]
-Toggle CLAY mode [F1]

Looks really cool. Reminds me of a feature in Zbrush.

In this video, I test the new factor parameter of the Tubepencil.
With this parameter, the generated tubes have a Fountain pen stroke style which is quite practical for making muscle fibers for example.

Thank you Kouza_Nagi
Bumarin For Sculptor is almost finished (few days before the new release).
With the next version, you will have all the pencils and the whole functionalities that the tool can provide.
At this moment I will explain how it works.

I use too many addons and this is in my top 5 (up there with Machine, Speedflow, Fluent, UVP, Photographer).

This addon needs more attention, the power that this adds to blenders already crazy grease pencil is amazing - it should be native with blender.

Just wanted to say thank you so much, look forward to future updates.

Ye, same here. just took the time to actually download a fresh 2.83 and the addon works flawlessly.
I think the problem is that when u have many other addons (haven’t tried which one is causing troubles) Bumarin stops working.
And also, take in consideration most users are in that group, so must be something to attend at some point near future.

It’s nice but it doesn’t help me to solve the problem.

I’ve been trying to help since release cause I can see how useful this could be.
I sent u the list of stuff I have on my build like half a year ago, never been able to make this work

Above the most amazing and needed tools it’s nice not to be rude to people that actually bought your addon, still do not complain and try to help (I’m writing all this merely cause of your answer)
I sent u also my build, just in case it helps u at some point to solve the problem so people can start using this for once.
Thanks

I don’t have enough money to download all these addons and test it for you.
If you just uninstall all your addons and install Bumarin and reinstall all addons one by one and check if Bumarin works until you find the one which blocks Bumarin it will help me to correct the code.
Have you done this?

If you read carefully the beginning of documentation of Bumarin v0.005 most of the problems which you talk about can be avoided.

I accept critics but when people say me Bumarin don’t works with experimental (2.90 version) and they say to me to correct the bugs on a Blender version which is not official, I wonder who are rude?

Bumarin works with official version of Blender and even if it is exciting to test the new possibilities of experimental version it is without any guaranty and as it says on the website:
“The following builds have the latest features and cool bug fixes. They can be unstable and mess up your files. Use at your own risk.

I always answer to every request and do my best to solve the problems.
Many improvements come from the feeback from Bumarin users which have given me suggestions or interesting ideas on the way they would use the tool.

I use most of those mentioned except Boxcutter (I use fluent + other), I don’t have any issues with Bumarin working with 2.83 LTS. Starting with a fresh install and installing in groups is how I’ve fixed issues in the past.

I could see something with pie editor crashing it if your trying to call a weird task, only thing I can think of.
