I’m having a continual issue with not seeing bump mapping in the renders. I’ve spent a good two hours testing and researching, but no joy.
Using the Blender internal renderer, but not using nodes. Just regular material/texture editors.
Probably something simple, but here’s the info. Any help you might be able to lend is most appreciated. Thank you in advance if you’re able to respond.
Using image file texture. In the same scene, I’ve also tried it w/ procedurals on bump channel, but no change. Bump still doesn’t show.
Tried in a new blender file, applied both procedural and same image texture as bump. Both show up in render perfectly.
Having trouble attaching files for some reason, so doing a link to imgur. I know that’s not standard, best practice, but hopefully it works for now.
For some reason I can’t get anything to upload now. Always used to be able to. But whenever I try to upload a zip, blend, or jpg, even if they’re well within the size limits, they don’t show up for me to click on and attach.
Hopefully it’s cool to post a dropbox link, at least for now.
In the Image sampling you have Normal enabled. This is a bump map not a normal map so turn this off
You have a Geometry Normal value of 55. Put it down to 1
You have the texture Mapping set to Generated, change to UV if you are using the UVs
You need to improve your lighting
To see the bump map in the viewport set the viewport to Textured view and in the Properties panel (N) under Shading, change from Multitexture to GLSL
