I noticed a golden butterfly on the forum the other day and thought I’d give it a try.
The design is original, rendered in Cycles with about 200 passes. The Diamond material is from BroadStu’s diamond set on Blendswap, which is a huge improvement over when I tried to render it with the diamonds set to a basic glass material.
At this point I’m pretty happy with the Butterfly, I might at some point model a different one, but this one I think is done. I’m not sure what to do, if anything, about the background though. I had considered making a chain and having it be a necklace on a stand of some sort. But I’m not sure.
