Calculate total edge length

Hello folks,

Is there a way to calculate automatically the total edge length?

Select a vertex at one end, shift select a vertex at the other end, press F to make an edge, note the length, press X to delete the edge

you can also activate the Measure Panel-addon for some additional measuring features… it shows up in the N-panel.
There’s an option that seems like it should add up the length of all selected edges, but I can’t get any sensible results with my current build. Still, using it to measure point-to-point is much smoother than the good old “loose edge”-trick.

I have enabled the measure panel but as you can see it calculates that I have chosen 35 different edges but it does not calculate the total edge length.

  • The length value remains the same by choosing different amount of edges
